Echoes of the ice
"And all will we be left with is echos of the ice,
photos of how it used to be mirrored too how it is.
Shadows left in the landscapes of our memories.’

"This is one of my Glacier Series artworks which is a type of documentation of a glacier. Where the glacier is no longer in the state depicted in the artwork. The artwork in front if the glacier is the same glacier a year later 🧊🖌"
Jessie's Glacier Series documents the Ötztal glaciers in Tirol, Austria and the concept is quietly devastating: when a work is finished, the moment it depicts is already a memory. She paints in a mixed technique of ink, graphite, acrylic and charcoal, and her pictures depict moments that already belong to the past at the time each piece is completed. She has also been a team member of Inspiring Girls on Ice Austria since 2021 connecting glaciers, science, nature and art.
